Prop 11 Campaign
For those who have visted the http://www.yesprop11.com/ website, you may have noticed that CAHU has completed two very important steps in the "Yes On Prop 11" campaign:
  1. CAHU has joined over 1,000 organizations, companies and individuals in endorsing the "California Voters First Initiative" as shown on the endorsement page.
  2. CAHU PAC's recent $100,000 contribution is proudly acknowledged on the bottom of every page on the website as a major contributor.
Click here for the letter supporting Proposition 11 you may personalize and send to your clients and friends. While we are all reluctant to mix business and politics, please step up boldly and fight for your own future.

Paid for by Yes on 11 - Hold Politicians Accountable, a coalition of consumer, senior, public interest, taxpayer, community and business groups and leaders, California Association of Health Underwriters PAC, and Safeway Inc.

The Inland Empire Association of Health Underwriters was formed in 1990 by a dedicated group of professionals determined to bring the benefits of one of the industry's premier agent's associations to the health insurance agents and brokers of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. IEAHU now boasts a membership of some 200 agents, brokers, and industry representatives, and has spawned a satellite chapter, the Desert Empire Sub-Chapter, to better serve the membership of the low desert and the Coachella Valley. IEAHU is one of many local chapters in the state of California, and across the nation. There is a CA state chapter - CAHU (California Association of Health Underwriters), and all local and state chapters in the country comprise the membership in our national organization - NAHU (National Association of Health Underwriters). NAHU has over 18,000 members and was formed back in 1930! Thus all IEAHU members are also members of CAHU and NAHU automatically.

NAHU CDHC Certification Program ------Consumer-directed health care options, including those for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), have opened a wealth of opportunities for consumers. These opportunities have created new responsibilities for agents and brokers, and advising clients in these areas is more difficult and time-consuming than it has been in the past. .........To address the new market options, NAHU has created a new CDHC certification course. Completion of this course will ensure a strong technical knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to various types of consumer-directed health care options and proven methods for communicating those options to employers and employees in a compelling way. .......The new certification program in consumer-driven health care (CDHC) is a four-hour course that provides brokers with technical, actionable information they can use to help clients consider these fast-evolving plans and implement them successfully. The class is open to employers, as well. The certification will serve as a distinction for producers as credentialed experts in the sophisticated space of CDHC. .........Certification will be provided following completion of the course and an online examination with a passing grade. .......NAHU requires that all attendees pre-register and prepay at least 10 days PRIOR to this event.
