Preserving the Role of the Professional Agent
Could you afford to lose your business? Could you go out tomorrow and start a new career?
If you answered "no" to one or both of these questions, then we've just taken away your arguments for not joining IEAHU. It doesn't matter how large or small your agencies, we all have the same goal: To preserve the role of the professional agent.
By joining IEAHU, you get the knowledge that there are millions of people dedicated to preserving your place of business and income as much as you. When you look at it this way, isn't the $465 per year (or just $38.75 per month) a small price to pay to preserve your livelihood?
It is important to realize that you are not just joining at the local level, but that you now become a member of the state (CAHU) and national (NAHU) organizations with great power and leverage within political circles. Each year NAHU spends over $1 million to present your interests before Congress and regulatory agencies. Its members hold leadership positions in over a dozen D.C. based healthcare coalitions lobbying Congress on pertinent issues, employ an outstanding team of experienced professionals to ensure your needs come first, and has a grassroots network targeting federal and state legislators with information and lobbying materials in advance of significant legislative votes.
NAHU is regarded by many of Washington's power brokers as the definitive source on the health insurance industry and was privileged to have newly elected President Bush select a staff member to work on his "transition team". NAHU's Political Action Committee (PAC) contributed to nearly 200 legislators and candidates during the 2000 elections cycle.
The Inland Empire Association of Health Underwriters is honored to support the professional health insurance agents and brokers, and industry representatives of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. We are single-mindedly dedicated to preserving California's private, market-based healthcare system, and to promoting the agent's vital role in that system.

IEAHU holds monthly luncheon meetings on the second Thursday of every month, in Ontario, CA (Dave and Buster’s, 4821 Mills Circle @ the Ontario Mills Mall). These regularly scheduled meetings usually run from 11:30am to 1:30pm, and reservations are required - which you can easily access from the Calendar section of this website (http://ieahu.org/events.php). Each meeting features a very informative guest speaker, usually offering Continuing Education credits included with the luncheon cost.
Our Ontario Monthly Luncheon price is:
- Member cost is $27.00 with RSVP.
- Non-Members $40.00 and Members without RSVP or paying at the door.
March brings our chapter's outstanding "Annual Sales Symposium", a day-long industry trade show featuring renowned keynote speakers, continuing education sessions, along with product display booths of close to 60 vendors. Our Annual Charity Golf Tournament is held in May each year, followed by our traditional Holiday Luncheon in December which always raise funds to support local charities.
As proud as IEAHU is of its many continuing education and charitable activities, the chapter is also very proud to play a part in the vital legislative activities held by both the California and National Association of Health Underwriters. IEAHU members regularly participate in annual legislative trips to Sacramento and Washington, D.C., as well as working to maintain an on-going dialogue on vital legislative issues with our local Inland Empire legislators via our "Adopt-A-Legislator" program. Our Chapter encourages all members to become "citizen lobbyists", and also to contribute generously to the CAHU-Political Action Committee.
By joining IEAHU, you surround yourself with the top health insurance professionals in our area. Through networking opportunities, you'll gain valuable insight into becoming the best you can be. Again, we ask you, isn't $465 per year (or just $38.75 per month) a small price to pay for all that?
